Deep Tissue Therapy
Deep Tissue Therapy uses many of the same techniques as Swedish massage or the classic massage therapy, but with a more intense pressure that is concentrated on deeper and painful areas . It is a form of treatment that is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted muscles such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Deep tissue Therapy therapy utilises a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is used to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions”) through slower strokes via deep finger, hand, and forearm pressure. It is also very useful in breaking up and getting rid of scar tissue. The skilled use of focused pressure will dissolve away your tension, restore flexibility, eliminate pain and bring balance to your body.
As a consequence of the relatively deep and strong pressure applied on the body, deep tissue therapy may cause some soreness during or right after the session. However, if the deep tissue therpay is done correctly by a trained therapist, you should feel better than ever within a day or two.
